“Chicken” Back In The Pen.

After a twelve month layoff, Brilliant son of Acres Destiny, Destinys Mr Chic will be returning to the cutting pen.

The earner of $60,000 in NCHA earnings “Chicken” will return to the pen at this years Toowoomba Futurity. Owner Mark Smith will ride him in the Open Non Pro and Todd Graham will ride him in the Open.

Considered one the most prestigious open cuttings on the annual calendar, this years Silver Stockwhip Open cutting will have a guaranteed prizepurse of $15,000 with Open Non Pro $5,000 guaranteed. Once again Tamarang will be the sponsors.

After being heavily campaigned in his aged event years Destinys Mr Chic was ‘retired’ . After the last breeding season owners Mark and Joanne Smith decided to put him back into the pen. “Chicken” has been back in light work for a few months now and is fit again to go. He will go off to Todd Grahams facility shortly for a tune up before the big event. Mark says “Thats the beauty of these older horses, it dosn’t take much to get them back into the groove”.

Destiny’s Mr Chic’s first crop are now in training for the 2012 futurity, rumour has it that Corey Holden has two very promising prospects on course to represent “Chicken” in his freshman year.

The Toowoomba Futurity kicks off on Monday July 4th with the Open cutting always attracting a top quality field of many of the best cutting horses on display, making it a must see event.
