Green and Neilsen Take First Day Honours

Queenslanders Frank Green and Lloyd Neilsen won the first go round of their events today in what was a great day of cutting on day one of the Toowoomba Futurity.

Riding the TR Dual Rey filly Tia Jewel Rey Frank Green pipped Aaron Wheatley and Heath Sinclair by half a point to take first go round honours scoring a 219.5. On a mild winters day the cowd  was treated to some first class runs . Twenty two horses scored 210 or better with Aaron Wheatley getting four of his five rides in the top ten joining wife Lindsay on the leader board after she scored a 215 riding Reyving reviews.

Other names in the top twenty include riders Corey Holden, Jason Leitch, Todd Graham, Jon Templeton, Bruce Holmes, Paul Palmoski, Luke Lyons, Phil Dawson and Grant Quigley. On what turned out to be a mild winters day, the cattle were fairly consistent and worked well once they were  separated.

In the Non Pro Derby Kingaroy rider and SQCHA Vice President, Lloyd Neilsen won the round with a 216 riding Roan To The Bone who’s by Peptos Stylish Oak. Billy Neville is sitting in outright second place riding Scots Holly, who is by Smart Little Scotty, they scored a 214.

Other riders currently filling the top ten spots are, Amelia Tonkin, Lori Mackay, Bob Johnstone, Bob Hamilton, Teresa Russo, Jill Busfield, James Hodgeman and Jamie Everingham. Go Round 2 commences at 8.00am tomorrow morning.
