RS CHISUM

The smart Red Roan Stallion RS Chisum has become a household name in Australian Cowhorse circles and his progeny are highly regarded in the Cutting and Cowhorse circles.
Bought as a yearling at 2007 US NCHA Futurity sale by Victorian Breeders Kim and Carole Landsdowne , RS Chisum was handpicked specifically for his type.
“We were looking for a QH that looked like a stockhorse,” says Kim Landsdowne , ” with big feet, good legs and good temperament, and we liked red roan too. We found Chisum who was a tall lanky yearling and set about to buy him.”

At the time of purchase his sire Hesapeptospoonful was a freshman sire but his offspring were already turning heads at the Futurity. Hesapeptospoonful went on to become the NCHA Freshman sire of the year. Bought in 2001 by American Businessman David McDavid for a tidy sum of $1.5 Million Dollars just before the NCHA Futurity finals after his high scores in the Go Rounds and Semi Finals.  This legendary sire earned close to $80,000 in the cutting pen before delivering as a Sire. At the time of his untimely death in 2012 Hesapeptospoonful was Ranked #8 in the Equistat top sires rankings siring earners of close to $3.5 million.

Like his dad RS Chisum has a huge reputation as a sire, producing  successful cutting horses  Koonamarra Spoonfulabadge and Bobbys Chisum. His progeny are also impressing in the campdraft circles too.
